Congratulations! This is the most beautiful time as a parent and
grandparent. It is also a beautiful time for the church to share in your
happiness. There are a few things that you must do:
Call the church office to inform the pastor
of the birth of your baby.
Arrange with the priest to bless your newborn.
Make an appointment to "Church" your baby.
Churching, done the first time the baby is brought to the church, spiritually prepares the baby and the parents for the great day of Holy Baptism. It is an imitation in Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who on the fortieth day was brought as a child into the Temple by His Holy Mother Mary and was carried in the arms of Simeon the Just.
